The 1885 Morgan Dollar is a classic example of nineteenth-century American coinage, struck in 0.900 fine silver with a total silver content of 0.77344 troy ounces. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 65 (MS-65) condition, indicating a highly preserved surface that showcases the original artistry of the era. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty faces left. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a band displaying her name. Framing her portrait are thirteen stars, the year 1885, and the Latin motto meaning "Out of many, one." The reverse side presents a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Surrounding this central motif are the legends declaring the nation of origin, the face value of one dollar, and the traditional motto expressing trust in God.
