Struck in the late nineteenth century, this 1885 silver coin represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted in San Francisco, it carries the distinctive "S" mint mark on its reverse side, positioned just above the denomination. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 63 (MS-63) condition, preserving its intricate details and metallic luster. Composed of 90 percent silver, it contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. The front of the coin displays a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, which features the word "Liberty" inscribed upon her hair band.
