The 1886 Morgan silver dollar stands as a classic example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Each of these silver pieces contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 90 percent. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, which features a hair band inscribed with the word "Liberty." This central portrait is encircled by the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum," thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1886 year of manufacture. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows in its talons. Surrounding this central motif are the inscriptions "United States of America," the denomination "One Dollar," and the national motto "In God We Trust."
