Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1886, this silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. The piece measures 38.1 mm in diameter and 3.1 mm in thickness, containing 0.7734 troy ounces of fine silver at a purity of 0.900. It survives today in a certified Mint State 63 condition, preserving the crisp details of its original manufacture over a century ago. The obverse features a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty, a depiction created by George T. Morgan. He modeled this portrait after Anna Willess Williams, choosing her features to represent the classic figure. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap decorated with a wreath of agricultural elements, symbolizing the nation's harvest and growth. The year 1886 is clearly inscribed at the bottom of the design. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide. The eagle holds an olive branch and arrows in its talons, representing peace and readiness.
