Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1886, this silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. The coin was produced under the legislative authority of the Bland-Allison Act of 1878, which mandated the government purchase and minting of silver bullion. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver within its 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper composition, this piece has survived in an exceptional state of preservation, earning a certified grade of Mint State 64. The obverse features a profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap decorated with a wreath of cotton and wheat, symbolizing the nation's agricultural heritage. The year 1886 is inscribed below her portrait. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with wings spread wide, clutching an olive branch and three arrows to signify both peace and readiness for defense. The national motto, "In God We Trust," is positioned above the eagle, while the denomination "ONE DOLLAR" is displayed at the bottom.
