The 1886 Morgan silver dollar stands as a classic representative of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck in 0.900 fine silver, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Its surfaces show the honest wear of a coin graded in Extra Fine condition, preserving the bold details of its original engraving. On the obverse, a left-facing profile of Liberty is adorned with a Phrygian cap, which is clearly inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Framing this central portrait are the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1886 date of manufacture. The reverse displays a heraldic bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch of peace and a bundle of arrows. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination ONE DOLLAR, along with the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST positioned above the bird.
