1886-O Morgan Dollar XF
Struck in 1886, this Morgan Silver Dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted in New Orleans, as indicated by the O mint mark, this piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived more than a century, it remains in Extra Fine condition, preserving the intricate details of its original nineteenth-century engraving. The obverse features a left-facing profile of Liberty wearing a traditional Phrygian cap, which bears the word LIBERTY on its band. Encircling this central portrait are thirteen stars, the year 1886, and the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Above the eagle, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed, while the phrases UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR frame the border, completing this iconic design.
