The 1886 Morgan silver dollar stands as a remarkable artifact from late nineteenth-century America. Minted in Louisiana at the historic New Orleans facility, this coin bears the distinctive 'O' mint mark on its reverse. Struck in 90 percent silver, each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original striking. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap. Her headpiece is beautifully decorated with native American agricultural staples, specifically wheat and cotton balls. The year 1886 is clearly inscribed at the bottom of the profile. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread wide. In its talons, the national bird clutches both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, symbolizing a desire for peace alongside a readiness for defense. The inscriptions read 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' and 'ONE DOLLAR', confirming its face value.
