0.7734 troy oz .900 1886 PCGS

The 1886 Morgan silver dollar stands as a classic representative of nineteenth-century American coinage. Minted in San Francisco, this piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, boasting a fineness of 0.900. Its design elements capture the artistic spirit of the era, presenting iconic national symbols on both faces of the coin. On the obverse, a profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap, with the word 'LIBERTY' visible along her hair band. This central portrait is encircled by the Latin motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM', thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1886 year of issue. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding this central motif are the inscriptions 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' and 'ONE DOLLAR', along with the motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' positioned above the eagle. The San Francisco Mint's 'S' mint mark is located on this side, positioned just above the denomination.
