The 1886 Morgan silver dollar minted in San Francisco stands as a remarkable example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck from 0.900 fine silver, this piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. It has been preserved in an exceptional state of preservation, certified by independent grading experts at Mint State 64. On the obverse, the design showcases a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap. This side is framed by thirteen stars representing the original colonies, alongside the date 1886 and the classic Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The word LIBERTY is also integrated into the design of her crown. The reverse of the coin displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR, along with the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Directly below the wreath on the reverse, the distinctive S mint mark identifies its origin from the historic San Francisco Mint.
