The 1886 Morgan Dollar stands as a classic representative of nineteenth-century American coinage. Encircling her portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the date 1886, and the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The reverse side showcases a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows to symbolize peace and readiness. Surrounding this central image are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR. Above the eagle, the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST is displayed. Just below the wreath on the reverse, the S mint mark identifies its origin from the San Francisco Mint.
