0.7734 troy oz .900 1886 NGC

The 1886 Morgan silver dollar stands as a classic example of American coinage, struck in 0.900 fine silver and containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original engraving just as it looked when it first left the coining press. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap. The cap is decorated with a wreath of cotton and wheat, symbolizing the agricultural abundance of the era. The date 1886 is positioned at the bottom of the profile. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread wide, clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Because this coin was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, it does not feature a mint mark on the reverse, a characteristic common to Philadelphia issues of this period.
