0.7734 troy oz .900 1887 Almost Unc

Struck in 1887 at the Philadelphia Mint, this silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver, the coin is composed of 90 percent precious metal. It remains a popular specimen for those exploring the rich artistry of late nineteenth-century United States currency. The front of the coin presents a left-facing profile of Liberty, who wears a traditional Phrygian cap. The word LIBERTY is visible along her hair band. Encircling this central portrait is the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, accompanied by thirteen stars and the 1887 year of issue. On the reverse side, a bald eagle is depicted clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. The surrounding inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the face value, ONE DOLLAR. Positioned above the eagle is the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST.
