0.7734 troy oz .900 1887 Brilliant Unc

The 1887 Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a remarkable example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver within its 90 percent silver composition. Out of a total mintage of 20,290,000 pieces, this particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original engraving. On the obverse side, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap, which features a hair band inscribed with the word "Liberty". Encircled by thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the portrait is framed by the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum" and the 1887 date of issue. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding this central image are the inscriptions "United States of America" and the denomination "One Dollar", while the motto "In God We Trust" is positioned directly above the eagle.
