The 1887 Morgan Dollar stands as a classic example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck in 0.900 fine silver, this piece contains 0.77344 ounces of precious metal. The specimen is certified in Mint State 62 (MS-62) condition, preserving the crisp details of its original manufacture for modern observers to study and appreciate. On the obverse side, a left-facing profile of Liberty is depicted. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap, which features a band inscribed with the word "Liberty" nestled in her hair. Surrounding this central portrait is the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum," thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1887 year of issue at the bottom. The reverse of the coin displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. This central motif is encircled by the inscriptions "United States of America" and the denomination "One Dollar." The motto "In God We Trust" is positioned directly above the eagle, completing the design of this historic silver issue.
