1887-O Morgan Dollar MS-61 PCGS

0.7734 troy oz .900 1887 MS-61 (PCGS)

Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, this 1887 silver dollar belongs to the legendary Morgan series, which circulated in America for roughly eight decades. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.77344 troy ounces of precious metal. This specific specimen has been certified in Mint State 61, preserving its original details and luster from the late nineteenth century. The obverse design presents a left-facing profile of Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a band inscribed with the word 'LIBERTY'. Encircling her portrait are thirteen stars, the year 1887, and the Latin motto 'E Pluribus Unum'. On the reverse, a bald eagle holds a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Above the eagle, the motto 'In God We Trust' appears in Gothic script. The surrounding legends read 'United States of America' and 'One Dollar'. Right above the denomination, the distinctive 'O' mint mark identifies this piece as a product of the New Orleans facility.
