0.7734 troy oz .900 1888 Almost Unc - 58

Struck in the late nineteenth century, the 1888 Morgan silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. This particular specimen, minted at the San Francisco branch, contains 0.7734 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver. Preserved in Almost Uncirculated 58 condition, it retains much of its original luster and detail, offering a clear look at the intricate artistry of the era. The obverse features a profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, decorated with a band inscribed with the word "Liberty." This central figure is encircled by the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum," thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1888 year of issue. On the reverse, a bald eagle holds an olive branch and arrows in its talons, symbolizing both peace and readiness. The eagle is framed by the inscriptions "United States of America," the denomination "One Dollar," and the motto "In God We Trust." Just below the wreath on the reverse, the "S" mint mark indicates its origin from the historic San Francisco Mint.
