Struck in 1888 at the San Francisco Mint, this Morgan Dollar is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. It contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, with a purity of 90 percent. As a representative of a series that circulated in American commerce for about 80 years, this specific coin escaped the heavy wear of daily transactions, keeping its original design elements remarkably sharp. The obverse displays a profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, which features a band inscribed with the word "Liberty". Surrounding her portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the date 1888, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted clutching both arrows and an olive branch. The inscriptions on this side include "United States of America", the denomination "One Dollar", and the motto "In God We Trust". The "S" mint mark, indicating its origin at the San Francisco facility, is also visible on this side.
