0.7734 troy oz .900 1888 Brilliant Unc (PCGS)

The 1888 Morgan silver dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular issue carries no mint mark, a traditional feature for coins produced at the main facility during this period. Each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a fineness of 0.900. The obverse features a left-facing profile of Liberty. Her hair is adorned with a Phrygian cap, which is decorated with native American agricultural elements, specifically cotton balls and wheat stalks. The year 1888 is inscribed along the lower rim. On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide. The eagle holds symbols of both peace and readiness, clutching an olive branch alongside a bundle of arrows. This specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the original design details as they emerged from the minting press over a century ago.
