0.7734 troy oz .900 1889 PCGS

The 1889 Morgan silver dollar stands as a remarkable artifact from the late nineteenth century, bearing the famous mint mark of the Carson City facility in Nevada. This particular specimen has survived the decades in a certified Extremely Fine 40 condition, showcasing the enduring appeal of United States coinage from the pre-1933 era. Minted with 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver within its overall 90 percent silver composition, the coin represents a fascinating intersection of American history and metallurgy. The obverse face of the dollar features the iconic profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a band inscribed with the word Liberty, surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The traditional Latin motto, E Pluribus Unum, is displayed along the upper rim, while the 1889 year of issue is stamped at the bottom. On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle is depicted clutching both an olive branch and arrows, symbolizing a desire for peace alongside a readiness for defense. The eagle is framed by a wreath, with the national motto, In God We Trust, positioned directly above its head. The inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar encircle the central design, while the highly sought-after CC mint mark rests just below the wreath, indicating its origin at the historic Carson City Mint.
