The 1889 Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a classic example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck with 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, this coin belongs to a celebrated series that circulated actively in American commerce for roughly eighty years. This particular specimen has survived the decades in remarkable condition, certified by professional graders at a Mint State 62 grade. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty faces left, adorned with a Phrygian cap. Her hair band is inscribed with the word Liberty, surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The traditional Latin motto, E Pluribus Unum, curves along the upper border, while the 1889 date of issue rests at the bottom. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both a peaceful olive branch and a cluster of defensive arrows in its talons. Above the eagle, the motto In God We Trust is visible, while the inscriptions United States of America and the One Dollar denomination frame the central design.
