The 1889 Morgan Dollar stands as a classic representation of late nineteenth-century American coinage. She wears a Phrygian cap, which is adorned with a hair band displaying the word LIBERTY. Encircling her portrait are thirteen stars, the date 1889, and the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted holding an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons.
