The 1889-O Morgan Dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage, minted at the historic New Orleans facility. Struck in 0.900 fine silver with a precious metal weight of 0.7734 troy ounces, this coin is part of a famous series that circulated actively in American commerce for about 80 years. This particular specimen survives in an impressive Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine details of its original engraving. On the obverse, the design showcases a left-facing portrait of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap. Her hair band is inscribed with the word "Liberty" while the outer rim features the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum," the 1889 year of issue, and thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle clutching a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. Above the eagle, the motto "In God We Trust" is written in gothic script, surrounded by the inscriptions "United States of America" and the "One Dollar" denomination. Just below the wreath on the reverse, the "O" mint mark indicates its origin from the New Orleans Mint, which produced 11,875,000 of these silver dollars in 1889.
