0.7734 troy oz .900 1889 PCGS

The 1889-S Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a remarkable example of late nineteenth-century United States coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900. It bears the distinctive "S" mint mark on its reverse, positioned just above the denomination, marking its origin from the busy West Coast facility. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. Her hair band is inscribed with the word "LIBERTY" amid a crown of foliage. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching an olive branch of peace in one talon and a cluster of arrows of strength in the other. Above the eagle, the national motto "In God We Trust" is inscribed, surrounded by the country name and the "ONE DOLLAR" denomination.
