1889-S Morgan Dollar Fine

0.7734 troy oz .900 1889 Fine

Minted in the late nineteenth century, this 1889 silver dollar represents a fascinating era of American coinage. Produced at the San Francisco Mint, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.7734 troy ounces of the precious metal. It carries a Fine grade, showing honest wear from its time in circulation while retaining the core elements of its historic imagery. The obverse side presents a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap. The word Liberty is integrated into her hairband, while the classic motto E Pluribus Unum arches above her head. Encircling the portrait are thirteen stars, which pay tribute to the original colonies that founded the nation, alongside the 1889 year of issue. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with its wings spread, holding both an olive branch and arrows in its talons to symbolize peace and strength. The inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar frame the central design, while the national motto In God We Trust is positioned directly above the eagle.
