Struck in the late nineteenth century, this 1889 silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted at the San Francisco facility, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900. It has survived the decades in remarkable condition, certified by professional graders at a Mint State 63 grade, which highlights the preservation of its original details. The obverse side presents a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap. Her hairband is inscribed with the word "Liberty," surrounded by the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum," thirteen symbolic stars, and the 1889 year of issue. On the reverse, a bald eagle holds an olive branch and a cluster of arrows within a wreath. The inscriptions "United States of America," "One Dollar," and the motto "In God We Trust" encircle the central image. The distinctive "S" mint mark is positioned on this side, located just underneath the wreath to denote its origin from the West Coast minting facility.
