0.7734 troy oz .900 1890 Almost Unc

In 1890, the Carson City Mint struck this silver dollar, a denomination that served as a staple of American commerce for roughly eight decades. Crafted from 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, this coin represents a bygone era of circulating precious metal currency. Its survival in Almost Uncirculated condition allows us to appreciate the intricate details of its late nineteenth-century engraving. The obverse features a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. This side is framed by thirteen stars, the year of issue, and the classic inscriptions "Liberty" and "E Pluribus Unum". On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted holding both an olive branch and arrows, symbolizing a desire for peace alongside a readiness for defense. The legendary "CC" mint mark of the Nevada facility is stamped below the eagle, accompanied by the inscriptions "United States of America", "One Dollar", and "In God We Trust".
