1890-CC Morgan Dollar BU (GSA)

0.7734 troy oz .900 1890 Brilliant Unc (GSA-Packaging)

The 1890 Morgan Dollar stands as a classic representative of America's silver coinage history, particularly when bearing the coveted 'CC' mint mark from the Carson City Mint. This specific coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver and has survived in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. It remains preserved inside an original Government Services Administration (GSA) holder, a packaging that connects it directly to historical treasury hoards. On the obverse, the design showcases Lady Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word 'Liberty'. Surrounding her profile are thirteen stars, the year of issue 1890, and the traditional motto 'E Pluribus Unum'. This face of the coin represents a design style that circulated as active currency for roughly 80 years. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. The inscriptions 'United States of America', 'One Dollar', and the national motto 'In God We Trust' encircle the central eagle. Positioned just below the wreath on this side is the famous 'CC' mint mark, indicating its origin at the Nevada minting facility.
