The 1890 Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a classic representation of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck in 0.900 fine silver, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of its original luster and detail from the Philadelphia Mint, where it was produced without a mint mark. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap, adorned with a hair band that displays the word "Liberty" nestled within her tresses. This side also bears the year of mintage, 1890, and the national motto "In God We Trust." On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with its wings spread wide. In its talons, the eagle firmly grasps an olive branch alongside a bundle of arrows, representing both peace and military preparedness. Surrounding this central motif are the inscriptions "United States of America" and the "One Dollar" denomination.
