0.7734 troy oz .900 1890 MS-63 (NGC)

The 1890 Morgan Dollar is a fascinating survivor from a classic era of United States coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver, this specific coin contains 0.77344 troy ounces of precious metal and has been officially graded as Mint State 63 (MS-63). The Morgan Dollar series itself holds a significant place in American monetary history, remaining in circulation for a span of about 80 years. On the obverse, the coin displays a left-facing portrait of Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap, which features a hair band inscribed with the word Liberty. Surrounding this central image are thirteen stars, the 1890 year of issue, and the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum. The reverse side presents a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. This central motif is encircled by the inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar, along with the national motto In God We Trust.
