Struck in the historic southern port city of New Orleans, this 1890 silver dollar is a compelling artifact from late nineteenth-century America. Composed of 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900, the coin has been certified in Mint State 62 condition, preserving its intricate design details for modern observers to study and appreciate. The obverse side presents a profile of Liberty, who wears a traditional Phrygian cap. Look closely at her hair band to find the word "Liberty" nestled within the design. Surrounding this central figure are thirteen stars, which pay tribute to the original American colonies. The classic Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum" and the 1890 year of manufacture are also clearly displayed along the rim. Turning the coin over reveals a powerful reverse design centered on a bald eagle. In its talons, the national bird grasps both a peaceful olive branch and a cluster of defensive arrows. This side also features the national motto "In God We Trust" positioned above the eagle, while the inscriptions "United States of America" and the "One Dollar" denomination frame the entire scene.
