Struck in 1890 at the historic New Orleans Mint, this Morgan Silver Dollar represents a fascinating era of American coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver and containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin is a substantial artifact from the late nineteenth century. This particular specimen survives in a condition ranging from Very Good to Very Fine, showing the honest wear of a coin that likely circulated in daily commerce. The obverse features a profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom, with the word "Liberty" inscribed upon her hair band. Encircling her portrait are the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum", the 1890 date of issue, and thirteen stars representing the original colonies.
