The 1890 Morgan Dollar is a compelling artifact from a bygone era of American currency, representing a series that circulated actively for about 80 years. Struck in 90 percent silver, this specific piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived the decades in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of its original luster and detail, offering a remarkably clear window into late nineteenth-century craftsmanship. On the obverse, the design showcases Liberty wearing a traditional Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word Liberty. This side is framed by the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum, thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1890 date. The reverse presents a powerful bald eagle clutching both an olive branch and arrows, symbolizing peace and readiness. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions United States of America, One Dollar, and the national motto, In God We Trust. A small S mint mark on the reverse indicates this dollar was struck at the historic San Francisco Mint.
