0.7734 troy oz .900 1890 MS-64 (PCGS)

The 1890 Morgan silver dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint is a remarkable survivor from the late nineteenth century. Out of a total mintage of 8,230,373 pieces produced at this West Coast facility, only a select few exhibit the highly reflective qualities found on this specific specimen. This coin has achieved a certified grade of Mint State 64, further distinguished by the Deep Mirror Prooflike designation, indicating an exceptional level of contrast between the frosted details and the highly reflective, mirror-like fields. Composed of 90 percent silver and containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin features the classic San Francisco "S" mint mark. The obverse displays the year 1890, while the reverse bears the traditional inscriptions of the United States of America, including the national motto "In God We Trust" and the one dollar face value. The intense reflectivity of the fields makes this particular issue a captivating piece of late Victorian-era American coinage.
