The 1891 Morgan silver dollar stands as a remarkable survivor from the late nineteenth century. Struck with a silver purity of 90 percent, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. This specific specimen has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, indicating it has retained its original luster and sharp details through the decades. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty faces left, adorned with a Phrygian cap that bears a band inscribed with her name. Surrounding this central portrait are thirteen stars, the year of manufacture, and the Latin motto translated as out of many, one. Because this piece was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, it does not bear a mint mark. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. The national designation and the face value of one dollar encircle the eagle, while the traditional motto expressing trust in God is positioned directly above the bird.
