1891-O Morgan Dollar BU

0.7734 troy oz .900 1891 Brilliant Unc

The 1891-O Morgan silver dollar represents a fascinating moment in late nineteenth-century American coining. Produced at the historic New Orleans Mint, this coin is struck from 90 percent silver and contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Out of a total mintage of 7,957,529 for this specific year and mint combination, this specimen survives in brilliant uncirculated condition, preserving its original design details. On the obverse side, a left-facing profile of Liberty is depicted. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap, which features a hair band displaying the word LIBERTY. The reverse side showcases a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch in one of its talons and a cluster of arrows in the other. Directly below the eagle, just above the face value of one dollar, the letter O indicates its origin from the New Orleans minting facility.
