0.7734 troy oz .900 1892 MS-64 (PCGS)

Struck in 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper, this 1892 Morgan dollar represents a significant era in American currency. Minted at the famous Carson City branch mint in Nevada, this coin carries the distinctive CC mint mark. The Carson City facility, which ceased operations in 1893, produced only 1,352,000 of these dollars in 1892, making specimens from this year particularly notable for those studying the history of Western minting. Designed by George T. Morgan, the coin features a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse. Her cap is decorated with wheat and cotton, flanked by the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and the 1892 date. The reverse displays an eagle with wings spread, grasping an olive branch and arrows. This central image is framed by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, and the motto In God we trust. With a diameter of 38.1 mm and a thickness of 3.1 mm, this substantial coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver. This specific specimen has been certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, preserving the details of a design deeply connected to the Bland-Allison Act and the historic Free Silver movement of the late nineteenth century.
