The 1892 silver dollar minted in Carson City represents a fascinating era of American coinage. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, showcasing the intricate details of George T. Morgan's design. The silver content of this coin is precisely 0.7734 troy ounces, minted from a 90 percent silver alloy. These large silver coins circulated actively in the United States for roughly eight decades, becoming a staple of daily commerce. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is visible wearing a Phrygian cap, which features a band inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Framing this central portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the 1892 year of issue, and the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The reverse side displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. The eagle is encircled by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR. Above the eagle, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is clearly legible. Positioned just below the wreath on the reverse are the dual letters CC, indicating its origin at the Nevada branch mint.
