The 1892 Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a remarkable example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck in 0.900 fine silver, this piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Because this particular issue was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, it does not bear a mint mark, distinguishing it from its branch-mint contemporaries of the same year. The obverse of the coin displays a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. Her hair band is inscribed with the word "Liberty". Encircling her portrait are thirteen stars, the date 1892, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. This central image is accompanied by the inscriptions "United States of America", "One Dollar", and the national motto "In God We Trust". This specific coin has survived the decades in remarkable condition, graded Mint State 61 (MS-61).
