0.7734 troy oz .900 1892 Extra Fine

The 1892 silver dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900. It survives today in Extra Fine condition, showing the detailed artistry of a design that circulated widely during the late nineteenth century. On the obverse side, Liberty is depicted facing left while wearing a Phrygian cap. Her hair band is inscribed with the word "LIBERTY" and she is encircled by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is arched above her, with the date 1892 positioned below. The reverse features an American bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "ONE DOLLAR." The national motto "In God We Trust" is inscribed in Gothic script directly above the eagle's head.
