This side is framed by the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum", the 1892 year of issue, and thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The reverse presents a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Surrounding the national bird are the inscriptions "United States of America", "One Dollar", and the motto "In God We Trust".
