0.7734 troy oz .900 1892 PCGS

The 1892 Morgan silver dollar represents a fascinating moment in late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this specific issue is part of a production run of 1,200,000 pieces. Made of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal and belongs to a broader series that circulated actively in commerce for about eighty years. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is shown adorned with a Phrygian cap. Her hairband displays the word LIBERTY, while the outer border is inscribed with the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1892 year of manufacture. The reverse side presents a classic bald eagle grasping arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding this central image are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the face value, ONE DOLLAR. Above the eagle, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is clearly visible, with the small S mint mark positioned below the wreath to denote its San Francisco origin.
