The 1892 Morgan silver dollar represents a fascinating moment in late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this specific issue is part of a production run of 1,200,000 pieces. Made of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal and belongs to a broader series that circulated actively in commerce for about eighty years. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is shown adorned with a Phrygian cap. Her hairband displays the word LIBERTY, while the outer border is inscribed with the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1892 year of manufacture.
