In 1892, the San Francisco mint struck a run of 1,200,000 silver dollars, which would go on to serve as a staple of daily commerce in the United States for roughly eighty years. This enduring piece of currency contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 0.900. Having survived decades of active circulation, this specimen is preserved in Extra Fine condition, showcasing the resilience of late nineteenth-century American coinage. The front of the coin displays a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hairband inscribed with the word "Liberty." This central image is framed by thirteen stars, the year 1892, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." On the reverse, a bald eagle clutches both arrows and an olive branch. The national motto "In God We Trust" is positioned above the eagle, while the inscriptions "United States of America" and the "One Dollar" denomination encircle the design. A distinct "S" mint mark beneath the wreath identifies its origin from the historic California minting facility.
