The 1893 Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a fascinating artifact from late nineteenth-century America. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this issue is particularly notable for its exceptionally low mintage of only 378,000 coins. Because it was produced at the main mint facility in Philadelphia, it does not feature a mint mark, distinguishing it from its branch-mint counterparts of the same year. On the obverse, the coin displays a profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. A close inspection reveals the word "Liberty" inscribed upon her hair band. This side is framed by thirteen stars, the date of issue, 1893, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." Surrounding the central eagle design are the inscriptions "United States of America," the denomination "One Dollar," and the motto "In God We Trust."
