The 1893-O Morgan Silver Dollar represents a fascinating moment in late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900. Having circulated through daily commerce, this piece is preserved in Fine condition, showing honest wear that tells its own story of survival. On the obverse, the design showcases the profile of Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap, decorated with a band inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Framing her portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the year of issue 1893, and the classic Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The reverse side displays a heraldic bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping arrows and an olive branch in its talons.
