The 1893-O Morgan Dollar represents a fascinating moment in American coining history, originating from the historic New Orleans Mint. This particular issue is notable for its remarkably low mintage of just 300,000 pieces, making it a highly discussed and sought-after representative of the beloved silver series. Struck in 0.900 fine silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of pure precious metal. The obverse design presents a left-facing profile of Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with the word LIBERTY. Encircling her portrait are thirteen stars, the year of issue (1893), and the traditional Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch and arrows in its talons.
