1894 Indian Head Cent Good+
The 1894 Indian Head Cent represents a classic era of United States minor coinage. Struck in a durable alloy consisting of 95 percent copper alongside a 5 percent mixture of tin and zinc, this penny has survived more than a century of circulation. This particular piece is preserved in Good condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that actively passed through the hands of everyday Americans in the late nineteenth century. On the obverse, the coin displays a profile of Liberty wearing a feathered headdress, a design created by James B. Longacre. The legend UNITED STATES and the date 1894 are clearly visible around the central figure. The reverse features a clean and elegant layout, displaying the denomination ONE CENT encircled by a traditional wreath. This Philadelphia Mint issue carries no mint mark, which was standard for the facility during this period.
