The 1894 Morgan silver dollar stands out as a remarkable curiosity for those exploring late nineteenth century American coinage. Minted in Philadelphia, this specific issue is notable for its exceptionally low production run, with only 110,000 of these silver pieces ever struck. Because it was produced at the main mint facility, it bears no mint mark, leaving the space below the wreath on the reverse blank. On the obverse, the design presents a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word LIBERTY. This side is framed by thirteen stars, the year of manufacture 1894, and the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. Each coin was struck with a metal composition containing 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, with a purity of 0.900. Turning to the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted holding both an olive branch and arrows in its talons.
