0.7734 troy oz .900 1894 Almost Good

The 1894 Morgan silver dollar struck at the New Orleans Mint carries a distinct character shaped by decades of active circulation. Now preserved in Almost Good condition, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of actual silver content within its 90 percent silver alloy. Its worn surfaces tell a silent story of the commerce it facilitated during the late nineteenth century and beyond. On the obverse, the profile of Lady Liberty is visible wearing a Phrygian cap, which features a band inscribed with the word Liberty. Framing her portrait along the rim are the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum, the 1894 year of manufacture, and thirteen stars representing the original American colonies. The reverse side displays the classic American bald eagle holding both an olive branch of peace and arrows of war. Encircling this central motif are the inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar, along with the national motto In God We Trust. This heavily circulated specimen offers observers a tangible connection to the monetary daily life of the late 1800s.
