The 1894 Morgan silver dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint stands as a remarkable example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver, the coin represents a historic era of United States precious metal coinage. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap. Her hair band is inscribed with the word LIBERTY, and the entire portrait is framed by the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1894 year of issue. The design showcases the intricate artistry that defined the era. The reverse of the coin displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding the central image are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR.
